Then, we took out the packet and filled out our character question paper. Also, we discussed the area of where are characters will be at. Then, we talked about how Rosemary is a chola for Halloween. Ms. Nakada said she looks like La Vida Loca. We also talked about what a main character is. Angel and Ms. Nakada discussed why people join gangs for a brief moment. The class and I talked about plots and made an example out of a roller coaster. We discussed how the class goal is 10,000 , Ms.Nakada said, "I highly recommend we should do a 20 day plan" she also said we should try to complete 500 words a day.

Agenda
Blog Corrections
Q.Q Song
Inktober: Catch
NaNoWriMoPrep
HW: RJ 11.1

First, we start out like any normal Monday (although it was a Wednesday.) with the blog corrections and then quotes, questions, and songs of the week. The quote of the week was: "If there is a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." Toni Morrison. The question of the week was: Do teachers assign too much homework? My answer is obviously yes because nobody wants to waste their time doing homework. Let us be kids because by the time we know it, we have a job with a whole lot of responsibilities. Then, we talked a little about the question. Next, it was the song of the week. The song is "You are the Everything "by R.E.M. The rest of the class got a little bit distracted because tomorrow is Halloween! I got distracted as well and thought, when you paint a house, it gets bigger. But, when you paint a room, it gets smaller. Anyway, back on topic we started to talk about the song. We got on a subject of a paradox because when you're still, you're moving still. You hate and love your parents. It's confusing, but yet very interesting. Then, we began on Inktober. The theme was Catch. We sketch our art for about 4 to 6 minutes.

Then we went to the ywp.nanowrimo.org and logged on. Lastly, we packed up and went home.

I came to class late. Ms. Nakada gets mad. She is saying we don't care about her class because we're late.

We did Inktober and the prompt was: ancient.

We are now reading our books for reader's workshop. But I'm just posted up about to take out my books. Destin wants to be in the blog, so here it is ;).

Derrick told us that kids purposely did bad on the AR Test. I don't really know what we're doing right now. The class is very quiet and that's unusual. Our class is always loud. Ms. Nakada is proud 'cause we weren't loud.

When we got to class, Prasiddha (I don't know how to spell his name) read his blog, and then we corrected it. After that, I was chosen to do the blog. First, we did the quotes, questions, and songs and talked about all three of them. I lost track for what we talked about for quote, "If you do not answer the noise and urgency of your gifts, they will turn on you." Joy Harjo. I remember for the question, we talked about things that are offensive. And the song we listened to was called "Hawai'i 78" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. After the quotes, questions, and songs, we did InkTober and the theme was enchanted. When we were done with InkTober, we worked on our Outsiders essays, and that was it for the day.

In the beginning of class, we wrote the agenda down in our binder reminders. Afterwords, Irvine read his blog to the class, and we did blog corrections. For some odd reason, the majority of the class told him to pick me. All of us were told to show Ms. Nakada our RJs, and draw a picture related to Inktober theme: bait. After that, we opened our reading journals to our Essay Basics page so we could write our essays for the prompt: Will Ponyboy Stay Gold? Ms. Nakada was getting annoyed with the class (I can see why) because most of the class particularly the left side of the room (her left) was loud and disrespectful. Certain people in the class who happen to always, and sometimes disrespect her and talk back to her, were sent out of the room to other classrooms. Finally, it was the end of a long day and we all put all of our belongings in our backpacks to go home.

First, we wrote our agenda. Then, we wrote our Q-Q-Song and talked about Maya Angelou's story when growing up. "You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." After the question of the week: How can daily life spark creativity? We listened to "Keep ya head up" by 2 pac. The lyric I liked the most is: "Even know your fed up, keep your head up." I think the song is to cheer sad,and down people up,and respect them. Then, we did our Inktober drawing, which was ring. Last, we packed up and went home.
